PATRIOT (H2020; 2015-2017; Eurostars Eureka No. E!9629):

“PUFs: Anchors of Trust in Resource Constrained Environments”
PATRIOT provided an alternative for outdated password-based security and costly secure elements. The solution resulted in a 2-factor authentication using unclonable hardware. For this, PUFs that provide unique fingerprints for chips and which have been vetted for government and defence use were brought to mass consumer markets.
The PATRIOT project was coordinated by Intrinsic-ID.
HECTOR (H2020; 2015-2018; Grant Agreement No. 644052):

“Hardware Enabled Crypto and Randomness”
HECTOR’s mission was to bridge the gap between the mathematical heaven of theoretically secure cryptographic algorithms and the challenges when it comes to implementing them securely and efficiently into hardware. The project focused on how to improve the hardware efficiency and robustness of 3 elementary security building blocks, namely crypto algorithms, random numbers generators, and Physically Unclonable Functions (PUFs).
The HECTOR project was coordinated by Technikon.
PUFFIN (FP7; 2012-2015; Grant Agreement No. 284833):

“Physically unclonable functions found in standard PC components”
PUFFIN studies and shown the existence of SRAM PUFs and other types of PUFs in standard PCs, laptops, mobile phones and consumer electronics.
The PUFFIN project was coordinated by TU Eindhoven.

“Holistic Approaches for Integrity of ICT-Systems”
HINT developed a solution to implement a common framework for a system’s integrity checking based on Trusted Computing technologies.
The HINT project was coordinated by Technikon.
